Old Persian Copper Ceremonial Engraved Rose Water Ewer 14″ (36cm) tall

Made by Master Engravers in Iran, circa 1930

A detailed, 14” tall hand hammered and engraved Persian copper Shiraz-style rose water ewer. The refined curvature, and unique, vertical rise of the spout was made by skilled artisans in the Isfahan region of Iran, circa 1930, as part of a bridal dowry collection. Ewers were designed and used to splash drops of rose water on guests, during lavish ceremonies. This piece includes classic Persian engraved motifs, including cypress, the Yazd (floral) design, cloudband, plus rose & nightingale designs. Made from original copper ingot to last for centuries, this ewer provides a striking compliment to eclectic interior settings with old-world accessories. All copper originals were tin washed for preservation. A residual amount of tin and surface blemishes may remain after polishing. The base of this piece is not flat, which is quite normal for hand wrought Persian copper originals. Remember: Copper is a base metal in high demand; fine engraved collectable copper is a precious metal, and rare pieces like this will always hold their value.
