Rare Antique Persian Copper Soup Tureen, 9.75″ (25cm) diameter

Handmade in Iran, circa 1900

A beautifully shaped, copper ingot soup tureen with fitted base, made from original ingot-formed copper. Measuring 3.5”  (9cm) tall and 9.75” (25cm) in diameter, the refined curvature and hand wrought style of this piece is made to last for centuries. It was originally produced by metal artisans in Isfahan, Iran, as a part of a bridal dowry collection, to serve soup, stews, and hot liquids during ceremonies. This tureen is extremely rare and provides a striking compliment to modern and eclectic interiors with old-world accessories.  Compare this item with virtually any collectable metal original and you’ll find it rises above everything in its category.
