Old Persian Sarouk, made in the Sultanabad region of Iran, circa 1940. Well-preserved, detached floral clusters, on an exceptionally beautiful burgundy field. Colors have matured well, and the rug is in excellent, like-new condition. Rugs like this were made for large households in the US; this one has survived the test of time and will last another century, or longer. There are very few specimens of this type, with deep burgundy colors, at this level of condition. And yes, its quite the vintage rug.
